Symptoms
Aches and pains can be a sign that your body isn’t working correctly, but we shouldn’t judge our health solely on the presence or absence of symptoms. Subluxations may exist without obvious symptoms, just like dental cavities, high blood pressure or heart disease. The reverse is true as well. If you eat some food that has gone off and find yourself vomiting to expel it, you probably won’t feel good, but you’re having a healthy response. Pain is just the way your body signals that a limit has been reached or a problem has developed. Since we can adapt, minor aches and pains are often shrugged off and while they may go away, if the underlying problem remains unattended, the problem can slowly worsen until it becomes more difficult to resolve.
True health is optimum physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
How well our body functions is based upon the integrity of our nervous system. That’s why so many seek our office for wellness care. They want to make sure that every tissue and organ in the body is functioning with a supply from a nervous system performing at it’s best. It just makes sense to detect little problems before they become bigger problems!
Low Back Pain
Persons at higher risk include those with physical jobs involving bending, lifting and pulling. Truck drivers are the occupational group who experience the most back pain. Risk factors also include cigarette smokers and those with poor physical fitness.
We’ve helped many people with safe and natural chiropractic care. By restoring the way your spine functions, nerve involvement is reduced, pain eases and the body can heal.
Neck Pain
Your neck is one of the most nerve-rich areas of your spine. Even the smallest deviation or dysfunction in the relationships of the seven bones that form your neck can cause symptoms such as pain, headaches, pins and needles or reduced head and neck mobility. Problems here can have widespread effects throughout your body, as most of the messages controlling how the body functions are carried through the spinal cord as it passes through the neck.
Physical, emotional or chemical stress can affect the frequency and severity of neck pain. Often, emotional stress is the overlooked culprit. Fear, anger or frustration can trigger the tightening of our neck muscles without our even being conscious. Some over-the-counter pain reliever might dull the pain, but it ignores the underlying cause!
We see this sort of thing all the time. Chiropractic care has a history of producing excellent results for those suffering from neck pain. And we do it naturally, without drugs or surgery. By reducing interference to the nervous system in the neck, through correction of spinal misalignments, many of our practice members find that chiropractic care gives them relief from both minor and major neck and shoulder complaints.
